There is a kind-of funny story
about this painting. Before I ever moved
to Ruidoso and began to paint, I visited the Hurd la Rinconada Gallery and fell in love with this print, framed. I never dreamed of purchasing it and never
thought about it again until the next time I happened to visit the gallery
after I had begun painting. This time I
couldn’t say “no” to it but it was pretty expensive and I hated to spend that kind of money
for a print. But I was weak, and so I
actually put in on “lay away” and paid it out over three months. This is a prized possession in my home and it will always be special to
me because it is one of the few pieces of art I ever looked at, paid attention
to or had speak to me before I began painting.
I love it.
It is by Andrew Wyeth and is called "Around the Corner".

Beautiful piece...I like your notation "paid attention to or had speak to me." I frequently wonder how these pieces that resonate with us are beckoning us to work in similar fashion....not copying, but looking closely at why we like them so much and how they might be integrated into the way we work.
